Can You See The City?

Peace and Love everyone...

There are alot of great views of San Francisco to be found, what with all the hills, ya know... and for the LONGEST time i thought Twin Peaks was the end all, be all for the best view of the city.

I was wrong.

Here is an old shot i took from TPs a long time ago...

Aww, beautiful right? Well yeah, it is... but fuck this. Too many tourists, giant coach buses in the way, vendors selling $5 hot dogs, 'gangstas' getting high. There has to be something better...

Wait, wait, are my eyes playing tricks on me? What is this hill to the side here? Why have i never noticed it before? It looks like there is NOBODY over there? HOW DO I GET THERE?

So this is the view from Corona Heights... And holy hell this is way better. There are about ZERO people up here with you, and you feel MUCH closer to the city. Up here, it's like that same feeling you get when you're taking off from an airplane... and you're high off the ground, but still low enough to make out everything on the street and be like "Hey look there! Hey look there!" Sorry Twin Peaks, but this is definitely an upgrade...

Hey look, i'm a bboy. I STILL GOT IT SON!

Like in my previous blog, here is another interesting house. It's not all weird looking, but yeah... the color is like a very light pastel lime green.. there's just something to say about it... but i'm not exactly sure what.

Oh, and did i mention that Corona Heights sits almost immediatley above The Castro District? I know they were filming here a few weeks ago for the new Harvey Milk movie, but i didn't catch any stars today.

Not that driving through The Castro today gave me this epiphany or anything, but it made me think... If you're not from San Francisco, i wonder sometimes if you can really understand how diverse and chill we are up here. I mean really, you've got the LGBT community, you've got the hippies and tree huggers, you've got Liberals vs Conservatives at about a 20 to 1 ratio... PLUS you've got the most amazing weather on earth, combined with the best views on earth... If you're not from here, you should really want to be here.

I'm just sayin...

lol and i FINALLY got to take a picture of this today(whenever i take the 101 on-ramp @ Duboce and Van Ness, i can never get a good picture)... Being the huge cartoon/HANNA BARBERA nerd that i am, whenever i see this Dick Dastardly poster i get a kick out of it... But what the hell is Gavin Coombs? I have no idea... And this can't be an advertisment, somebody had to have thrown this up themselves... Curiousssssssssss......
